"Tawny Gold" pastel painting

9 x 12 pastel on LaCarte

This painting is soooo close to being done, maybe it is done, but I have to put it away before I tinker with it!  Tomorrow I will look at it and see what (if any) tiny touches are needed.  I am really happy with it.  I'm planning on entering it in a juried show.

Meanwhile, I think I'll tinker to my heart's delight on that watercolor on Aquabord!

  1. Don't tinker!! It looks just like the view from my house in Red Rock where I used to live (I'm now in Oregon).

Maybe the Placerville show!!!Lots of prizes and cash up in that one! Did you use any turpinod on this? I really love it!

  5. Thank you so much Ida and Ti. I'm so glad it makes a reaction to other people besides myself! And, yes, Ida, I used a dark bluish nupastel with turpenoid to start.

  6. Very nice! I agree that it is very likely "done". Good luck in the show.

  9. Hi Carolyn,
Oh, yes, this is ready for a show! My favorite part is the foreground and your strong use of blues in the snow shadows.

    Thanks for sharing, Sandy.
