I've been working on this one on and off for about a week. I took the photo a year ago when the rabbit brush was in bloom. But I never had the chance to paint it until now. And right now the rabbit brush is in bloom again. Time flies...
Exactly, time flies, we change, nature is the perfect example. I think today you are wiser than yesterday, and we can see that in your painting. Sometimes we have ideas that can only be real with time. Like this photo of yours! Lovely light & unique colour in that bush.
Dear Carolyn, this pastel is one of my favorite! I see you had inspiration and this pastel is beautiful! With motion in the branches, lilac colours in them and such lovely rabbit bush in yellow bloom! WOW! I love also these warm pink and cream colors on the background and gray-turquoise of the grass! Such wonderful!!!
Welcome to my art blog! This is where I share my explorations and learning experiences in pastel, watercolor and oil painting. I have had this blog for about six or more years. I am currently entering many national and regional juried art shows. I have a website and sell my work from there as well. I started a group called Reno Tahoe Plein Air Painters a year ago and it has grown to about 40 active painters! Each year brings new challenges and exciting opportunities. I have made many friends among other art bloggers and enjoy visiting their blogs. I hope you enjoy your visit here, and click on the links to my website and the plein air painters to see more!
