Sneak Peek at my Pastel Studio

You don't know how lucky you are to see this!  I would NEVER have an "Open Studio" for people to tour ...  Ha!  This is it!  The kitchen counter.  I like having the sink right there to wash the pastel off my hands.  Notice the creative use of an old notebook laptop?  I'm using it to prop up my reference (in this case it is the watercolor painting).  The board up on the easle attachment has been painted with watercolor to provide a "map" for me to follow.

Here is a close-up.  No, it is not out of focus!  This Ampersand PastelBord is so funny, it makes the watercolor bleed out around the edges.

We are going to a play tonight (our son-in-law is playing the leading role), then tomorrow we will be going up to our Truckee cabin for the weekend to relax and look out at the snow still on the ground.

Later!

Hello! Very creative studio!! When I paint in our kitchen on the other ranch, where I live now, I set my laptop on the counter with the reference on the screen--that added light form the laptop is great! Then put my new 1/2 french on the table, not using the legs it has, and my heilman box in front and have a great time!! That old garage I usally paint in is too cold now, but I recently got a wood stove for it! We will put that in soon. Your work looks greeat here!

I like your working place. Mine is not that confortable. I work on the table, surrounded by baby food, mugs, clothes and mate, which is a traditional argentinian beverage. Oh, I forgot about my cat, who is always sitting on my lap playing with the brushes.
The worst part is that I have to prepare all the materials and put them away everytime I paint. I would love to leave everything just the way it is !
Your work is beautiful!!! Congratulations!!

Thanks friends! What we do for the love of art! Just give us a warm place in the winter, a cool place in the summer, and the dream of dreams - a place where we can leave our stuff out!

Yes, Carolyn! You said so, as is it! I often draw on the floor. In winter it is not very comfortable and I use sleeping bag for travelling. And travel in my dreams :-)))
