Ferns and Fiddleheads and then some Fiber

This is another painting I'm starting in greyscale.  Actually, the paper is grey, so I'm using black pastel (a color I never use!!!).  Tomorrow I will paint color over it.

I have exciting news - my daughter is expecting her first child (my first grandchild!).  So, now my art-time is divided between painting and fiber.  Time for show and tell:

I'm working on a baby blanket with little sheep on it.  The sheep yarn is my own handspun from sheep's wool, alpaca and Miss Lucky bunny yarn.

I also took some Miss Lucky yarn and dyed it in koolaide.

Then I made a baby hat!

Ohh, lovely! I like both things!
I see you are really creative, my friend.
Please show us the painting when you finish it.

Hurra! This is good news! I am so happy, I'm jumping to the ceiling like a kangaroo!
Very interesting picture of the ferns! Waiting! I agree with Kira that you are very creative person!
And yet, I wish you the best! Begining knitting of blankets - it's something! It will be great things for the baby! White Sheep will sing his songs in the afternoon, and black - in the night:)
I congratulate you with the good news once again! This is great! Life!!! :)))))))))

You are simply amazing. Really. Koolaide? really, does it last? It must or you wouldn't of done it. Your hat is just beautiful, and looks so soft!! You are lucky to have a daughter and now a grandchild----I have a huge grand-puppy! Well, dog now, a lab. I don't think my son will ever get with it! You are incrediably artful!
