I brought some photographic references with me on this family trip, so I could grab an unplanned moment and paint a little, most likely from our room or balcony. So this is the one I chose. This is the Boulders, which is near Scottsdale, AZ. A few years ago we were guests of friends who have a second home on the golf course. I just loved the rocks and boulders and how they seem to have been piled and balanced on top of each other by a magical power of some kind.
