- Welcome to my art blog! This is where I share my explorations and learning experiences in pastel, watercolor and oil painting. I have had this blog for about six or more years. I am currently entering many national and regional juried art shows. I have a website and sell my work from there as well. I started a group called Reno Tahoe Plein Air Painters a year ago and it has grown to about 40 active painters! Each year brings new challenges and exciting opportunities. Wow, looking straight up the tree! I do that often as I lay below and daydream so this scene is nostalgic to me. I tried something similar once with watercolor, and mask and pouring the color. Very intersesting, and I want to try again. This one is very nice and I do like the colors within. Its snowing here, too! Spring weather is rather a bore!
In my opinion this painting is divided in two, the left part is like a very watery watercolour and the right side seems to have more definition.
I like to see those kind of contrasts in one art work.
... and I also love and miss the snow storms... they are really inspiring!
