Recent pictures of my art studio

I am so anxious for things to settle down so I can use my new studio!  But details, deliveries, repairs to furniture that got damaged in the move, window coverings and drapes, landscapers, and the like, have interferred with my time!  I clearly need a window covering of some kind in that big window.  The sun comes right in and it is hot and bright.  Time to take measurements and bring out the sewing machine!

Here are some recent pictures of my studio - complete with studio bunny, checking out the new digs.  That is Pixie and she loves to run around her room and the studio.  The white bunny on the chair - that is actually a puppet!

The little dresser with mirror I just could not part with - so it has a new use - storing art supplies.

Looks like a nice bright space! Now I want to see it "in use", instead of all nice & neat! How do you deal with the pastel dust and your pretty new carpet?

Hi Liz! Pastel dust and carpets! A good question. I find that if I use a sanded paper like Kitty Wallis, La Carte and PastelBord, AND start with an underpainting, that there is very little fall-out. I put a piece of tin foil in the shape of a ditch, at the bottom of the artwork on the easle and this catches fall-out. I also learned from an artist friend that using an outdoor tablecloth (plastic on the top and fuzzy stuff on the bottom) and laying it under your easle upside-down, the fuzzy fiber catches any further fall-out.

Hi Sharon! I hope to be doing work in it soon. Things have been a little crazy.

It's beautiful! I think I could relax and paint in that studio of yours! Maybe Lara can play with the bunny or Pixie for a little while.
Enjoy it!!!!!!!!!!
